若い頃はコンピュータが面白かった。それは人間が、つまり私自身が扱える部分が多かったからです。データを記憶する大きなテープをかけ替えたり、パワーをオンにしてマイクロコードをロードして、それからオペレーティング・システムをロードする。するとシステムコンソールにその他のシステム関連のプログラムが主記憶装置にロードされていくのが表示されていく。わくわくする瞬間でした。
私は頑固ジジイだから言っているのではなく、AIというのは面白くない。表面的な形式だけを繋ぎ合わせるだけだからです。つまり、人間の感覚が欠落しているからです。例えば間合いとか、抜け落ちている特徴を追いかける人間と人間のコミュニケーションの部分がないからです。英語でも中国語でも日本語でもギターでもサキソフォンでもハーモニカでも何でもいいんです。気持ちが伝わる、それが大事です。私のブルースハープは50年経っても人に何かを伝えるレベルに達していませんが、、、。

For example, it is because there is no part of human-to-human communication that follows the pauses and other missing features. It doesn't matter if it's English, Chinese, Japanese, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, or whatever. The feeling is conveyed, that's what it is all about. My blues harp has not reached the level of communicating something to people even after 50 years, sorry to say that.
