日本人の鎮魂歌

 

『海ゆかば』。詞は大伴家持作（万葉集巻十八 西暦783年）。死者の魂を慰め冥福を祈るために捧げられる日本人の鎮魂歌です。

国のために死ぬのではなく、愛する人のためだったら死ねると詠っています。生きるには根拠がいる。人間が動物と違うのは生きる価値を自ら認めないと人は生きていけないということです。年寄りの独り言、失礼しました。

『Umi Yukaba』. The lyrics were written by Otomo Yakamochi in 783 AD. It is a requiem of the Japanese people dedicated to comforting the souls of the dead and praying for their repose.

The poem says that we could die if it were for our loved ones, not for our country. There is a basis for living. What makes human beings different from animals is that we cannot live unless we recognize the value of life ourselves. Sorry for the old man's ramblings.
