この曲を聞くと映画『男はつらいよ』が思い浮かびます。主人公の寅さんは、旅回りのテキ屋なのですが帰るべき故郷があります。寅さんの話って実はアイデンティティの確認ではないだろうか？

　　　　

全国を飛び回る寅さんには葛飾柴又で時間を共有した家族や旧知の隣人がいる。つまり、アイデンティティがある。だからこそ町から町へと放浪できるのでしょう。寅さんのアイデンティティは葛飾柴又の人々によって守られているのです。

Rather than a man who left his home because he fell in love with a woman, he is more like a Japanese movie Otoko wa tsuraiyo (男はつらいよ, It's Tough Being a Man). Main character Tora-san is a traveling salesman who has a hometown to return to. Tora-san's talk is a confirmation of identity. Tora-san, who travels all over the country, has old neighbors with whom he shared family and time in Katsushika Shibamata. In other words, he can wander from town to town because he has an identity. Tora's identity is protected by the people of Katsushika Shibamata. That's what it is all about.
